昨儿个见了新来的同学，今天是她们Orientation的第一天。

日子呼啦呼拉地就过拉，时间这个东西是浪费不起的，没了就真的没了。像老爸那样彻底把时间当成宝的作风，壮烈牺牲睡眠时间，也不值得推荐。过度折旧只能把未来的时间给吃了。不过二十几是精力最旺儿的时候，应该拼命地折腾折腾自己。等老了，在躺椅上一坐，至少还能有些可笑，可泣，可悲，可美的事儿想想。。。。。怎么快乐就怎么折腾吧。只要大方向正确，折腾完了必定有收获。怎么想就怎么做吧。天知道会成什么。。。。信念和努力。

So happy am I! My dear friends, YiJin, He, WanJen, Ji, Qiuhan, JinXiang, XuXu, QianQian, Amy gave me a big present on my birthday: a wonderful party. We sat around tables in Newell Simon’s Lounge on Friday night with a long long chat. We enjoyed the delicious cake, cookies, fruits, and drinks, and wached some funny dvs on JinXiang’s laptop!! It’s quite unusual for me to have so many schoolmates and friends celebrate my birthday together….. This one is absolutely unforgetable!! Thanks my dear dear friends!! 

That day my grandma and grandpa were still up until 11:00p.m. (shanghai time) when I called them. They were waiting for my phone call and just wanted to say “Happy Birthday” to me…. I am always their little sweetie……. Also, thanks my Dad and Mom, and my God Dad and Mom for their wonderful wishes…..

Thanks Weili to fly over. So delicious was the dinner that we were cooking together…..

Thanks Drizziling, Seven, JinJing and Cecilia. Never forget my day even we are far away…

So happy to know at least five of my friends are getting married in this year.   2006 seems to be a good year. Congratulations, especially to lovely TangTang:-)

I love the summer here!!

I definitely cannot live without air conditioning in Shanghai during the summer, but here a mini fan can absolutely cool me down to combat the heat. Maybe only ten days totally in the whole summer i need my fan… Thunderstorm is a frequent visitor here accompanying with humidity and automatic cooling mechanism. Strictly speaking, PA is a typical mountain area. That’s the true reason underlying the nice summer. haha. Free public performance and movie show always put arms around me. Those events are very like family events in the neighborhood. Parents always bring their children and enjoy the wonderful moment together. It recalls me the feeling of listening to some intriguing stories narrated by my grandma in the balcony of my grandparent’s apartment in the summer night when I was a child. I was used to be walking down the Bund with my grandpa after the story telling. Boats and cruises are horning and mumbling in the Huang Pu River. It sounds like a lullaby, and always bringing a salty smell with the wind to me.

My internship is going very well. It’s not an annoying part in my life, instead, at least i can earn some money to get some delicious food and can bear some loving clothes on the summer big sale!! I started practicing driving last weekend. Hopefully I can pass the driver test in the early of August. I am quite comfortable with handling the automatic car, although it seems that i have not even touched the car for around three years yet. Some of my friends are still studying in the summer semester. Often times, I am bringing my lunch to the school after 8-minute walk from my daily internship place. I always take advantage of such kind of chance to be very talkative, otherwise i will get self-closed if no one can chat up with me in a whole day. That’s the most enjoyable part of my previous job, frankly, always could grab someone to talk. HaHa. I also audited some classes at the school, the one was just over last night taught by a very pretty Turkish economic professor, who is also a contemporary Turkish artist doing some cubism stuffs.

The Independence Day is coming. I am very excited to expect the potluck and firework on that day with my dear friends… Also that day is my dad’s birthday:) Happy Birthday, Dad……

夏天，终于可以打开窗户。

 

大大的窗儿总是闪着浓浓的绿。叶子伴着风儿舞动起来，外加阳光在那里一闪一闪，小鸟儿、松鼠再在那里奔两下，绿似乎就是绿了。

 

看了《理发师》，掉了两滴泪。生命就得是绿的。

 

After a long long trip, almost 24-hour, I finally safely arrived in pittsburgh. It was 3:00 a.m. on May 30th. Strong storm in Chicago caused temporary close of the Chicago International Airport for a while. Everything was messed up, and everything was delayed, including myself and my luggages, which came to me at 1:00 a.m. of the following day May 31st.

My flight from Shanghai to Chicago stopped in Milwawkee before arriving in Chicago to add oil, otherwise the aircraft would consume all oil when flying and waiting for landing the Chicago airport during the close time. According to the words of the captain, the weather problem resulted from the BBQ during the big holiday of the previous weekend, especially the memorial day. (so funny) I was supposed to switch my second flight to Pittsburgh at 7:29 p.m. (Chicago time), half hour earlier even than the landing time of my first flight. The good thing is all departing flights were delayed. The actual departure time turned out to be 12:30 a.m., including almost one-hour seated on the aircraft and waiting in the long line for taking off. As what I anticipated, both of my luggages didn’t show up in Pittsburgh at the same day as I did. They were finally delivered to my apartment after 22 hours I arrived in Pitts.

It’s a nightmare, but a sort of good experience for me, I think. Next time, I definitely will choose to switch my flight in Tokyo. Too many stories I’ve heard so far on transferring aircraft in the United States.

 

四月，如同细细的柳条从冷了大半年的枝条悬了下来，一下子舒展开了，倒不仅仅是春天的缘故，因为心里多了份暖暖的关怀。

五月，如同长长的粽叶挂在屋檐底下，香气随着风儿鸟儿的，一下子蔓延开了，倒不仅仅是初夏的缘故，因为心里多了份暖暖的关怀。

六月，该是怎样呢？

Only ten days left~~~~ I am coming, Shanghai!!!

Ten things I want to do: (one day for one thing)

1) EAT, the no. 1 thing:-) I shall approriately gain some weights, so no problem with any food! I don’t know whether 蚕豆 is still in season?
